Stygeaus
Bottom of the World
The abstract deity of the depths of the underworld. It represents the fundament or bottom of creation, the lowest reach to which one could sink. Embodied, this being is that which consumes the worst of reality, breaking it down into nothingness. According to the mythology of the Darlunar Pantheon, when the Maelstrom bore Stygeaus, the elder siblings decided this marked the completion of their generation. They circumscribed the cosmos, placing Maelstrom beyond and Stygeaus below.
Mental characteristics
Morality & Philosophy
Stygeaus does not have a complex view of the world and accepts its function as given to it by its siblings. As Stygeaus sees things, anything or anyone placed before it deserves to be there and the right thing to do is to devour the subject. This is not to say that Stygeaus is mindless or beastial. Like all the other abstract deities, Stygeaus is vast, ancient, and nearly omnipotent. With this understanding, Stygeaus knows that the universe needs a way to process and recycle the detritus of creation so that the all may endure. Thus, no one can expect it to bend to arguments, logic, or remorse.
