Elf
Elves are a race decended from fae ancestry but possessing a greater presence in the physical realm. Like their fae ancestors, they tend to prefer living alongside nature. Unlike fae, their power and well-being is not tied to their environment. Elves share the angular facial features and pointed ears of gnomes and halflings. While slighter than humans on average, elves are about as tall in early adulthood. Elves slowly gain height their entire lives, so particularly venerable elves could reach beyond 7 feet tall before succuming to age. Elves age at less than a fifth of the speed of humans, and they have been known to reach 500 years old on occassion (400 is more common).
Elves are naturally magical to some degree, oweing to their ancestry. They take to the art more quickly than humans and dwarves, at least at first. Due to their long lives and facination with the complexities of magic, they are given to halting the progress of their studies to explore a particular detail that interests them.
