Phervian

The Phervian culture as of the Fey age is the culture of the half Phervians still residing in The Phervian SanctuaryThese are separated into the high houses, descended from the Phervians who make up the central Consciousness, lesser houses who make up the remainder of the surviving Phervian houses and their slaves. though at this point the slaves only follow the equate, often keeping their old culture.

Built on slaves

Phervian's focus on higher pursuits, meaning hard manual labour and household tasks are left to the slave populace that makes up around 95 percent of the city. These slaves come from a verity of races, most of which are secreted away as slavery is outlawed by most other cultures. The only race never sold into slavery is the Tieflings, as even true Phervian's saw them as equals.

Phervian family names have a long history denoting a persons heritage, status and current position within Phervian hierarchy. To be stripped of your name is to be cast out of society. Truly legendary Phervians can start their own family using their name as their last name.

Gender Ideals

As the original Phervians had no concept of gender, this has passed into their culture, even though male and females now exist with half Phervians. The only differance in roles is the part each gender plays in reproducing.

Courtship Ideals

Among the nobility every relationship is heavily arranged, with the couple sometime not even knowing about the other till their wedding day. During the wedding ceremony the lesser house member takes on the higher houses name, becoming a full part of that house and loosing all connection to their previous.
