Dernier Jivic
Technically two seprate villages and a fort with Dernier Jivic referring to just the fortified town, with Jivic referring to the Dragconic tribe that lives there. Originally a tribal hill fort for the Draconic Jivic tribe, as the forest was pushed back, Rivellian nobles bought the land to set up a motte and Baily as a launching post for their hunts.
History
The Jivic tribe tells stories of the land before the 'coming of the soft-skinned'. According to these stories, after the Phervian's broke the Draconic empire, those east of the mountains were forgotten and left alone. The once proud city that once dominated the area fell into decline as trade ceased. and the population shank from disease and starvation. Many groups fell back into small societies based around villages, as nature reclaimed the land. The Jivic settled in the area taming the local Maulvre, occasionally trading with other tribes and eventually the Iorn beards when they reopened their hold. Migrants joined the tribe from the east, with some Shifters arriving from the north.Early Rivell
When the first Rivellians arrived and claimed the area, the Jivic took the opportunity to trade with the newcomers, increasing ideas in architecture, art, and society. The Tribal elite became more like knights than warriors, with paintings and songs filling their homes. As the relationship grew Jivic often became a stopping point for Rivell hunters, with a small fortified shrine being built to The Goddess being built a little outside the village in a clearing.Rivellian Village
As the forest started to clear in the western part of Orslon, nobles coming for the thrill started setting up base camps closer to Jivic. The Jivic Elder, seeing an opportunity, had his people work on a road from the fortified shrine to Orslon, Rivell was doing it in reverse, promising to support the expeditions with mounts, provisions, and guilds. This led to the village popping up around the shrine while a large outer wall was built to protect it. The Nobles built a large hunting keep to the Northeast which has its own staff for most of the year but swells in the autumn when nobles and their 'camp followers' arrive. All three locations would be heavily damaged in 122 Fey during the Civil war causing the need to rebuild. This for the a time hampered the town as nobles were busy with their own estates rather then going on hunting trips, combined with the lose of life in the area as a whole created a slight ghost town effect for the following decade. This would change with Mont Andieu founding the Spire of Garnia as an educational facility for the area.Migrations
The Jivic tribe would move into the outskirts of the village for better protection of both, combined with returning noble hunting parties, and mages looking to expand their knowledge at the spire led to an increase in service buildings as well as population to support it. By 140 Fey it had become the biggest town in the region, though still considered poor it housed an entire hunting district with taverns, stables, weapon smiths, fletchers and tanners. Visitors could be forgiven for thinking they were in the Rivellian core due to the large public areas. A new double migration happened in 147 Fey in the aftermath of Varo's Performatory opened the area up to not only the fey but also other performers who would come to Dernier Jivic in the hope of being noticed and aloud to preform at the Performatory. This resulted in a truly massive Spring Festival in 148 Fey.Layout
The entire town is still built around the central green used for the festival, the fortified shrine stands tall in the middle with several taverns around the edge, all with performance areas, the rest of the town is split into several districts. the whole town is surrounded by a thick stone wall.Hunting district
The most southernly district, it is home to the old Jivic tribe with a mix of residential, stables, and military workshops needed not only for hunting parties but the garrison that also reside in this area. The area also has a large sheep pen used to provide wool and milk to the tribesmen. the whole area is built behind a palisade within the walls, a stairwell leading to the top of the wall where the tribe help defend the village. It has retained it's draconic tribal culture despite being in a rivellian town.Magical district
Home to the biggest landmark of the city, the magical district lies just north of the festival grounds, built around the Spire of Garnia the area is also the smallest district. Full of magic shops, study equipment, and bunk houses the area supports the mages visiting the area.Old town
The surviving area from the civil war, it's the village built south and east of the festival grounds. While mostly residential it does include a market place just east of the festival grounds, this is often co-opted into the festival grounds after 148 Fey.Noble District
A more upend service area with more luxury inn, bath houses, cafes, and pleasure houses, it is the smallest district and sits at the west part of town. While only those who work in the area tend to live there permanently and the whole district is quite during the winter months, it does tend to have lesser nobles and the occasional visit from a more important figure.ranches
The south west part of town is a ranch area given over to horses, cattle, goats, and sheep.
