Krik'tha Flood

The Krik'tha Flood destroyed the southern Nurnen empire and drove a great power nearly to the brink of destruction. The beasts that came forth from the An'an Maw drove the Nurnen northwards past the Barrier Mountains, which they had not been contained above since before the Barrier War.

Only 50 years ago, the capital of Nörn was moved from Volheim back to the ancient capital of Kürka. The move was not for some ceremonial or political purpose, but because the southern empire was simply no longer tenable. Going backwards a further 50 years or so, a small aberration in the southeastern provinces of the Nurnen empire birthed a horror that would eventually bring the kingdom to its knees. Creatures that can most aptly be described by the clicking sound that they make when hunting (Krik'tha) spilled forth from a mysterious living cavern and began razing everything in their path. By the time the Nurnen military was ready to face this threat, the Krik'tha had already devastated much of the southern empire, and the rest proved to be untenable.
