The formation of a Northern Human Empire by the ancient king Abbas is the central event to understanding the modern culture of the Northern Human Realms (or Abbasynia to those who live there). It is the formative event of the present day human culture of the region.

An ancient myth (with some deal of historical evidence to lend it credence) of the Northern Human Realms revolving around the great king Abbas tells the spiritual tale of a man searching to unite his people and rid the land of evil. The legend is a story used dually to teach morals to children and to explain the need for the near constant warfare that dominates the region today. It is a tale of what made a great king fall to madness, about respecting your place as a mortal, and about the mortal failings and temptations of men. It has a long and complex legacy, and scholars dedicate their entire lives to understanding its implications in our modern world.
