Cedric Naïlo
Night Hunter: Cedric Durlan von Lavallan Intevar de Thurruvyn Naïlo (a.k.a. "Cedar")
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Built for acrobatic skill, Cedric is very lithe and slender, and, though incredibly musclebound, would often be described as being more sinewy. He often relies on his ability to make a nimble escape, and being too heavy would be detrimental to such a thing. Being light is also a key factor in his stealth capabilities, but, regardless, his thighs are what the humans would call "thiccque". He is less musclebound than his brother, but it is really only noticeable if they are side-by-side and are casual clothes, or unclothed.
Body Features
Cedric has dark, freckled skin with very few blemishes. Despite his years of archery, his hands are surprisingly lightly calloused. He has several tattoos of roses and moons along his back, arms, and sides, but they can all be easily hidden for the most part. These tattoos match his brother's.
Facial Features
Like most elves, Cedric's face can be described as androgynous. He has a slightly angular face, though most of his features are comparatively softer. Like the rest of his body, his face is dusted by freckles. A few beauty marks dot his face as well, though the most prominent one his beneath his left eye, placed directly below the outside edge. Long, dark lashes frame his golden eyes. Though not obnoxiously so, his brows are naturally darker than the rest of his hair and are soft yet well defined. His nose would likely be described as being strong. Lips naturally turn into a soft frown, though they are often shaped into a smirk. More often than not, his lips are tinted a nice shade of red. His ears are long and pointed, like all elves, and are pierced in several different spots. His face is framed by naturally wild and curly rose gold hair. In the center of his forehead rests a small moon-shaped lythari mark, which changes shape with the moon phases. It is only visible at night or in the dark, though his hair does naturally cover it.
Identifying Characteristics
His most identifying features would certainly be his strikingly gold eyes and the beauty mark beneath his left eye. Smells of night-blooming jasmine and cedarwood.
Physical quirks
Walks with a straight posture, hands often clasped either behind or in front depending on whether there is any weaponry or a cloak in the way. Naturally and preferably left-handed, though he has learned to use both hands to near equal skill. He has a more casual resting posture than his brother, and is generally more expressive physically.
Apparel & Accessories
Typical to ranger fashion, Cedric wears mostly earthy tones. Lower layers are comprised of typical themarian elven wear. Quiver on the right hip. Tall leather boots that reach near his knees. Leather bracer on his right arm to protect it from the bowstring. Weapon belts cover his torso, lined with throwing knives and the like. Atop it all is a knee-length green cloak, the collar lined by elk fur. The hood is covered in the same fur, and, at the top, rests two antlers, often decorated with gold. Around his neck rests a necklace with a small, jade antler secured to a leather cord. Keeps a pocket-sized journal on him for recording notes and other bits of information.

When Illynaes and Pyria Naïlo of the Ulrennor lythari were told that their son would be a powerful leader, they were overjoyed and prepared extensively for their unborn child's arrival. However, what they hadn't prepared for were twin sons. Unsure of which of the boys were meant for the destiny prophesied, Illynaes quickly went to seek the answer from the elders who had imparted the knowledge upon them in the first place. However, no answer was given as the elders were unsure themselves.
Illynaes tried to care for his sons equally, attempting to see which of the two had the most natural ability to lead. It became quickly apparent that in terms of social skill, Cedric was nothing like his brother. Carric was cold, distant, and overly wary, making it clearer and clearer to Illynaes which of the two would be best to lead the clan, even despite Cedric's trouble-making habits. Their father's favoritism became more obvious over the years, so much so that it would eventually ultimately be the thing that drove his other son away.
Cedric lived a relatively easy life when he was young. He was taught the standard education available in Nylmthemar, history, arithmetic, language... Everything he would one day need should he become a leader. However, as he and Carric grew, he stayed blissfully unaware of his father's preference of him over his brother. Despite this, though, he still managed a close, loving relationship with Carric. Though, that did change when their mother passed under mysterious circumstances. Without her to bridge the gap between their father and Carric, the two grew distant, and Cedric was often forced to act as a mediator, slowly pushing his own brother further and further away.
One night, under the guise of darkness, Carric escaped from their settlement. Cedric tried to stop him as he exited the main gate, begging him not to go. Surely he could not be so uncaring as to just leave his twin behind. Besides that, what would father think?
Without a second thought or even a glance back, Carric crossed through the gate, never to be seen by the Ulrennor lythari again. Cedric immediately went to get their father, hoping that they could find and stop him in time. Illynaes refused, saying that if someone was so selfish to abandon their clan, they did not belong among them. Cedric went on his own, instead, though he never caught up to his brother. What he did find, however, was Carric's discarded pack, items strewn about, pools of blood, and one long trail leading towards the nearby kipine den.
Cedric would never learn the truth of his brother's fate until a near century later.
Cedric's personality changed after that day, the troublemaker in him now seemingly dead. He took to his studies instead, focusing all of his attention on each and every piece of research. On Cedric's fifteenth birthday, his father named him his heir, and now he waits for the day he'll take the role of leader from his father. He left the pack's land to hunt and slay a powerful beast to prove he was worthy to be the next leader. He slew a dragon and carried as much as he could of it back to the settlement. Now he waits for the day he'll take his father's place, he often finds himself exploring Nylmthemar to better learn of his home continent and the people that live there. Over time, he'd found himself coming into repetitive contact with the Night Pack, and would eventually join their ranks without his father's knowledge.
By complete chance one day, Cedric encountered his brother in Thysiire. He'd initially believed Carric to be some sort of spy, or another outsider trying to infiltrate the Night Pack by pretending to be him. He'd tracked the other elf through the city, eventually cornering him to demand an answer. He recognized who he really was as soon as they locked eyes. Overwhelmed with joy that his brother had not died all those years ago, he quickly welcomed Carric back into every aspect of his life, even introducing him to the Night Pack. However, he respects his brother's wishes for his fate to remain unknown to their pack.

Cedric often functions as a bounty hunter, hunting criminals and other dangerous individuals and creatures for high sums of money. He also functions as an information hunter for the Night Pack, instead, tracking leads from city to city, continent to continent.
Morality & Philosophy
Cedric has adopted his brother's belief system over the years, though he's much less gung-ho about it, instead, using it as a basis for his own beliefs. He thinks that people should be equal, yes, but he thinks that the most important way for this to be accomplished is by truth and knowledge.
