University of Artificers and Wizards

Purpose / Function

The University of Artificers and Wizards is a large educational complex built to teach students the world of magic and technology. Students are taught fundamentals such as modifying the weave, learning to cast spells, working with mechanical technologies, infusions, etc. Different classes are taught depending on what the student wants to focus on. Many of the graduates go off to work in magic item production or become wizarding adventurers.

Alterations

With the rise of the 500's, the UAW has mainly expanded a couple classrooms, but mainly the surrounding neighborhoods got the most amount of alterations. Houses were no longer scattered everywhere, but rather were reorganized into straight streets for easier navigation.

Architecture

The university is mostly made out of bricks and reinforced with wooden frames. The general size of the building larger than 10,000ft2 and is currently 3 stories tall. Classrooms can hold up to 50 students at a time.   The outside zone surrounding the university are two sets of neighborhoods that give residence to the students. These houses are simple in design but provide decent living. They provide a roof, a bed, a table, and heating for the students.

History

The university's history is almost as old as Thorcester City itself. Construction plans were made in the year 25 and the university was fully built in the year 28. The university used to just teach super basic magic and the inclusion of artificer classes didn't occur until the year 73. Ever since then, the university has stayed more or less the same. Students came in, came out, etc. The university is currently ran by Head Dean Randolph McMurphy.
