Dōhan the Formless

Dōhan, aged Oni and Karō of the influential Hayashi Family, is a dangerous sorceror and major political player in the landscape of the greater Mōri Clan. At least, he was. This changed when a plan to spy on the Hashinara Clan by using Shōta's body went awry, allowing Hashinara Yoshitakatomo to seal away his true form within a tattoo on her dead skin. Drunk on the pleasures of youth, Dōhan did not notice his plight until it was too late. Unable to return to a body which no longer exists in the proper sense and unwilling to reveal the extent of his failings to the Mōri, he is forced to seek aid from his former enemies.   Yoshitakatomo has taken advantage of Dōhan's situation to install a spy within the Shimazu Clan. He has discarded Shōta's body for now, taking Yamada Arinaga's instead. Yet even in his weakened state, the Hashinara Daimyō's contemptuous treatment no doubt rankles a mind as aged and proud as Dōhan's once was...
