Demon King
The Demon King is a powerful demon and sorcerer terrorising the island of Mesthre with his army of horrid monsters and Nightmares. His forces have nearly entirely overwhelmed the kingdoms of the Dwarves, Elves, and Tiapur. He also has great power in black magics, ravaging the lands with a magical illness simply called the Demon's Curse. His castle is in the west, beyond the mountains, where he took over cities previously belonging to Aphonea. Despite being the first to lose territory to him, Aphonea is the last kingdom still holding strong against his forces.
No one in Aphonea has ever seen the Demon King, though his presence is clearly felt. Not only by the Curse, but also by refugees from the countryside who flee the invading monsters, by the terror of his messages and demands of surrender to the king and queen of Aphonea, and by the near complete surrender he achieved against the other non-human kingdoms of Mesthre. It is but a matter of time before his forces lay siege to the city of Aphonea itself, and with the kingdom under his thumb, he will certainly set his eyes upon the rest of the world.
