The Whispering Woods

The Whispering Woods is a vast and ancient forest located in the northern center of Giamela, between the towns of Brusel and Midford. Under the rule of Count Saul and Marchioness Fleur, the forest provides resources and work for many of the local residents between the Western Plains and the North Woodlands regions. The forest is thick and dark in some areas, with towering trees stretching up to the sky, their branches intertwining to form a natural canopy overhead. The forest floor is a dense tangle of underbrush and moss, with a dirt trail that enters through the northwest and cuts through the center of the woods before branching out on the other side to the east and southeast, leading to Midford and the capital city, Wakeflow, respectively.   The Whispering Woods is home to a wide variety of animals, including deer, bears, and birds of prey. The forest is also well-reknowned for its prized beasts, such as the elusive giant elk, the savage giant boar, and the regal dire wolf, which make their home under the shade of the trees. The woods are a popular destination for nobles seeking to gain title and land-rights from the crown, as it provides a challenging proving ground for hunters and warriors alike.   The Whispering Woods is known for its picturesque atmosphere and scenery, many of Kalbela's most famous master artisans used these woods as their inspirations from the Lake of the Gold Mists in the south woods to the hidden Wood Elven city of Sylvaedel to the north. The woods are full of ancient magic, and many believe that the forest is home to faeries, dryads, and other mystical creatures that cross over from the Feywild.
