Session 3: Burning Vampires & Hot Gossip

17th-18th Day of Winter   The party take to the quest from Samson and on the way, they have confrontational "words" with a guard at the gates, sweet Ginny forgets her one job, and Anton continues to explore a curious route into the Citadel. This is all before they spend half a day travelling to the location the spider nest is rumoured to be, in the wet rains of winter. There, they find the hole, that had clearly been fallen through, a man supervising from the Citadel to watch if anything comes out. So, Ginny, Zilla, Gore, Anton, and Beau slide in to the dark crevice. After some exploration, and a fall, the party discover the begininngs of sticky threads, woven strands of white, bulbous sacs. And soon after, the architects of these beutifully woven webs emerged from the cavern, a swarm of thirteen spiders scurrying into sight. The party were on the offensive with haste, Ginny hurling fire into the swarm, Zilla slicing through the giant arachnids, Beau shot his gun and vanished behind hanging corpses, Gore excessively smited them, and Anton, well Anton was poisoned, paralyzed and wrapped for digestion. Despite, the overwhelming swarm of the creatures, and their poisonous bites, the party left with the parts they had come for and more, including a scholar named WIlliam who was paralyzed in one of the strewn up web sacs. Though, they did not explore more of the cave, worried they were not prepared to take on more. So, they climb back out into the wet, cold of Winter in the Ignian plains.   The party return to the Citadel and hand the parts to Samson, who is very pleased. He gives them some coin, and his gratitude and bids them goodnight. The following morning, Samson's wife sweetly arrives with some warm breakfast, and a sweet smile. Folowing the delicious meal, the party headed into the streets of the citadel in different directions. Beau, Ginny, and Gore made for the quest office to kill some time. They offered to help someone transport their goods. They learnt the goods was a crate of vampires, a manical dwarf needed for study. He asked the trio to dig him a pit by midday and he observed them burn slowly in the sun. Anton, began to build his reputation among other scholars, and exchanged some information in hopes of Pipi personally recommending him to another scholar. Zilla was sure to gather as much information about the Citadel as possible. He observed guard routes, purchased binoculars to spy into the top floor, and even bumbed into Chanelle at the library. And so, the party continue their exploration of the Citadel.
