The Birth of Kahzia

There’s a legend among the people of The Kingdom of Lapiza that tells the story of how Kahzia, the god of the volcano, came into their world. It's a story believed by many all across the kingdom, passed down from generation to generation. The story itself tells of the day the god Kahzia was created. When the planet came into being, a large volcano was hidden beneath the waves of the Opalescent Sea, off the coast of what is now known as Lapiza. Not long after the Goddess Aurora first manifested onto the planet, this volcano erupted, sending lava out into the ocean. As this lava continued to flow, the volcano pushed itself to the surface and surrounded itself with an island. As the last of the magma pushed to the surface, it brought a large boulder out with it. The boulder was covered with veins of red and orange, just like the lava itself. When it landed on the newly formed beach, it cracked open, revealing the fire spirit Kahzia.  Some believe he was slumbering in that volcano when the planet was created, others believe he did not come into being until Aurora blessed the planet with life. Whatever the reason for life, many believe that he is still watching the island and its volcano, serving as the protector of the people so the volcano does not erupt again.

Spread

Many people across the nation of Lapiza have heard the story at least once in their lives. The people living closest to the volcano often tell this story, and they're always the ones who know it best. The further you get from the volcano and its people, the fewer and fewer people are likely to know the story.

Cultural Reception

This legend is believed by many across the nation, especially those living on the volcanic island. The people of the mainland are more skeptical, especially if they've never been near the volcano for themselves.
