Kyma

The Kingdom of Kyma is a large temperate kingdom that makes up the southerner tip of the Trilands. It has been ruled by the Ross family for the last 5 Generations and officially worshiped Tyr for the last 2. The kingdom is most well known for it's trade routes and it's adventurers guild. After a failed invasion into Volan over a century ago, Kyma has been considered neutral. It's current King Donovan Ross 3rd is wildly respected by the people of Kyma. He has embraced his fathers ruling that switched the kingdoms religion from Talos to Tyr. The ruling was extremely controversial at the time, but has lead to a more peaceful and prosperous life. Today Kyma consist of 4 seperate regions, 8 major cities, 2 ports and a Dwarven Bastion. The magnificent city of Clenburn is the capital city of Kyma. There rest the Throne of King Ross and The Great Church of Justice.   Due to optimal location and the constant warring between Volan and Torlac, Kyma has become the trade center of the Trilands. Most international trade from distant lands comes through the Kyma city of Darkport. From there it its processed and shipped accordingly. This gives Kyma an massive source of income and the largest guild network in the Trilands. At the forefront of those guilds is the Kyma's Adventurer's Guild. After the enormous amount of casualties suffered during the Volan invasion, the army was left devastated. Bandit's, pirates and creatures of the night took advantage of the situation and began to overrun the land. With a Volan counter attack always on the table, the army could hardly afford the soldiers needed to respond to the kingdoms internal conflicts. A merchant by the name of Torvald begun spending large amounts of gold to hire former soldiers, arena fighters and even criminals to protect his interest. Soon the merchants guild followed setting up a system for private individuals to take contracts from needy merchants. This would eventually evolve into a guild on its own. Today, the guild handles most of the problems of the private citizen, freeing up the army to defend the borders against hostile nations.   Kyma's culture is largely tied to the will to manifest what is right. Disputes are often resolved by arena matches and opportunities are always available to those who have the power to seize them. This belief is only amplified by the faith of Tyr, which encourages justice to be served. Most citizens take this to heart. They aspire to be fair and just. There are, however, use these tenants to justify banditry and treachery. Over the last decade the rise of the Pheonix Pirates have has caused chaos along Kyma's coast. Coupled with the recent rise of banditry and the dangerous orc tribes, has made the adventures guild busier than ever.

Volan and Kyma are currently bound by a non-aggression pact, but tensions are always high. Volan is always looking to expand it's territory and Kyma is the most prosperous land nearby. If it wasn't for Volan's constant warring with Torlac, Kyma could expect a full scale invasion.
