Locations
Although most areas are ravished from the persistent storms, a few locations of interest persist.
- Inklers Trading Post - located centrally in the desert, it is a small collection of buildings, sheltered from the wind with panels that are constantly replaced and repaired. Treated as the one “safe” stopping point within the desert.
- Purple Worm Hive - a hive home to a Purple Worm Queen who is in her breeding cycle— many other worms are around due to the cycle.
- The Underdocks - rumours of a large trading dock, located deep on the western coastline, tunnel deep down. Believed to be a train hub from the surface world to the under dark and the creatures of the deep seas.
History of the Desert
The land occupied by The Thundering Desert was once planes of agricultural soil that would give life to anything planted in its soil. Countries resided within this region with autonomy, and traded with the empire and the nations up north.
In the year 4900, the Atyrian Empire started invading and provoking the nations of the north, and began moving their forces northward. The council of spi’kay — a group of representatives from the northern countries — chose to enact a 100-year curse upon the land.
The fertile soil of the land refused all growth, the planted vegetation faded, and the land turned to a dessert within the week, it conditions becoming inhospitable to the empires forces.
