Alvacia
The legendary Celestial of death, Alvacia's presence in Celestial stories is haunting, and her status among the Celestials is second only to the Commander, often surpassing even Love. She is one of the most well-known Celestials.
After this famous story, Alvacia began to appear throughout the rest of Celestial history. She and the Celestial of life were close friends, and the story of Life's Death explains how she was the one to see him die. She was the first Celestial to have a child: Ogden, the Celestial of old age. She appeared in myths about the Commander and Celosia, although no one knows how close she was to either of them at the time. When Madeleine appeared, Alvacia claimed her as her daughter. When Celosia died, Alvacia was one of three people allowed to visit the Commander. She was mentioned in several stories as well.
General myths about Celestials tend to mention Alvacia in the background more than the center, using her as a way to link individuals and explain details. According to these stories, Alvacia is an incredibly powerful being isolated from the world, with no interest in Celestial society, believing herself above others. Myths about only her, however, show a side that she likely wished to keep private: a lonely, quiet woman who has lost far more than can be imagined, staying apart from the world so she does not taint it with her melancholy.
Outside of her most common myths and legends, Alvacia is believed to have inspired Ceruis, the Denironian goddess of death. Additionally, several stories about her have trickled into other worlds like Jerde, Exiria, and Vishteljerer.
Death is inevitable, be it in this way or some other. The only guarantee you have in life is that it will one day end.
History
Alvacia is a pre-generation, one of the original seven Celestials in existence. The first stories about her often included the other pre-gens. In these few stories, Alvacia was painted as a quiet and benevolent figure who guided the souls of the deceased to the afterlife. After her first few stories, which originated around 10,000 BPC, there is a strange gap in the legends. However, Alvacia was the first to reappear, with her most famous story emerging from a small backwater planet in the outer rim. This story, which is often one's first introduction to Alvacia, describes how the Celestial of death lived in a village with her husband and tiny daughter. One day, returning from her work, she found the village in flames and her family dead. In grief and rage, Alvacia buried her husband and child beside a river and mourned them forever after. The version of this myth from that planet incorrectly claims that she became a Celestial after her family's deaths, but despite its many flaws, there are details that even later myths confirm, such as the age and first initial of her daughter's name.
Alvacia made very few appearances at the gatherings of Celestials. Records from these Celestials claim that she disliked parties and preferred to stay by herself. She was often presented as a neutral party to Celestial disagreements, yet when the Celestial War began, she joined on the Commander's side, accompanied by her three children at the time. Alvacia's involvement in the war is rarely mentioned, and many believe she did not interfere much at all. Following the war, Alvacia disappeared from myths and only reappeared when her fourth Celestial child, Serena, appeared.
Your mother does not like to come here, so she asked me to take care of you in her place.
The Celestial of love and the Celestial of hatred are dead. This war is now over. Cease fighting. Return to your homes.
Magic & Powers
Alvacia's powers are nearly immeasurable. As the pre-generation Celestial of death, she has unparalleled control of death magic, allowing her to raise the dead, speak to ghosts, and cause others to die. It is believed that Alvacia's control supercedes that of any other mage that uses death magic and that she uses her own power instead of a sacrifice. Her oldest myths claim that she could tame spirits and bring their souls to the afterlife. Others mention a "waiting place" that she protects. Writing in a very old scroll claims that, unlike other Celestials, she cannot die. While many of her domain-specific powers are mysterious and hidden, it can be assumed that she has the usual powers that accompany all Eternals and Celestials, including teleportation, telepathic communication, age-shifting, and the ability to create and summon weapons. She is also likely able to use Blood Magic and life magic. She is believed to have created two Celestial lieutenants, Herrick and Tarson.

Appearance & Renderings
Alvacia has a commonly contradictory physical description. While she is often described and pictured with black hair, black eyes, and pale skin to give her a striking, unearthly appearance, her oldest myths describe her as an unassuming woman with brown hair, gray eyes, and fair skin. Her height is usually correct, as she is taller than the average woman but shorter than most men, and is likely around 5'6" or 5'7". She always wears black and usually has her hair kept out of her face in braids or a bun. Alvacia has been depicted by many artists across the galaxy. Most artworks depict her with black hair, but there are a few that do not. She is often pictured with a scythe held like a staff and a sword strapped to her waist. Just like her description, she is always pictured in black, but some renderings have her wear different colors to represent death. A few chilling images of her in her darkest moments show a smooth skull mask over her face. Some show her with four figures around her to represent her children Ogden, Madeleine, Virun, and Serena.Death had many names and none of them were new.

Author's Notes
Alvacia is a very important character later on, and trying to balance what I could say with what couldn't be revealed yet was an interesting experience. I think I leaned heavily on the vague, but this article will work for a while.
