Adelaide Parallax
If we want the illusions to work, we can't let people know we're twins. There can only be one of us.
We'll need a new name, too. Something totally different. Something magical.
Adelaide Parallax began as the stage name shared by the identical twin sisters Callista Weisz and Coralie Weisz, illusionists and younger sisters of 'The Incredible' Charles Weisz .
Physical Description
Specialized Equipment
She carries a small train case with a few memories. Her only useful items are a deck of Tarot cards and a small set of lock-picking tools she keeps secreted about herself.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Adelaide is determined to make it to Las Vegas. While she may no longer be capable of pulling off the more complicated illusions that require twins, she is still a skilled and talented illusionist.
Mental Trauma
It's certainly not easy being half-dead. Adelaide is not suffering from a personality disorder. She is haunted—or possessed—by Callista's spirit.
Intellectual Characteristics
By nature Adelaide is a walking contradiction. She will overflow with empathy and kindness before flipping a complete reverse into cold indifference.
She is intelligent and educated, focused, determined.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Of two minds on many subjects, Adelaide is always trying to find her way to Las Vegas. Cora's running toward success. Calli's running from failure.
Personality Quirks
Compulsively seeks to wash or wipe off her hands, especially in high-stress situations.
She wipes them on her thighs, washes them any time she passes a sink, grabs towels to try and dry them.
Huh? Oh. I guess I am. I don't know why. Probably ash or soot or something on them. They always feel dirty. Or sticky sometimes. So I keep washing them.
The knowledge of Charlie's murder at Callista's hands lives on in Adelaide's memory. Coralie is deeply troubled by the truth and plagued by the gruesome memories. Memories that are not her own, but Calli's, imported like a digital document that someone else owns.
