Lair
Kas dwells in the corrupted
Crypt of Kas deep within Ira. The tomb was once dedicated to celestial knights but was defiled by Kas after his fall. Dozens of deathless warriors, entombed in their armor, kneel in eternal vigil, guarding his slumber. Acrid smog cloaks the hill above, and basalt gates seal intruders from entry without his command.
History
Born a mortal knight, Kas rose to become Vecna’s most trusted lieutenant during the conquest of Lorien. At the Siege of Lethis, Kas commanded necromancers in raising colossal undead war engines from the lake’s depths, breaking the capital’s defenses. Vecna rewarded his loyalty by transforming him into a death knight and forging the Sword of Kas.
For decades, Kas terrorized Lorien and beyond as Vecna’s right hand. But Vecna’s growing lust for godhood disgusted him, and paranoia drove a wedge between master and servant. When Vecna ascended the tower of Entropis to claim divinity, Kas struck. Their battle was apocalyptic — both were seemingly destroyed, leaving behind only Vecna’s eye and hand, and the Sword of Kas, which still carried a fragment of its master’s soul.
Kas was thought annihilated, stole the artifacts, and escaped to the seven hells with the aid of his most loyal knights.
