History

The ancient vampire known as Dana Redqwir is a higher vampire that lived millennia and outlasted various kingdoms and empires. The oldest record of her presence is from the War of the Ancients, an instance during which she befriended the Elf later known as Nesiven the goddess of blood and wine, she is sought to be partially responsible of the blood dominion of the goddess.

Council member

Dana Redqwir served as the strategiste and military commander of the Crimson Court, one of the four leader of the crimson court, holding the title of Queen of the crimson court. When adventurers Rose Fancy, Lalia Herbier, and Aelsthim arrived in the Shadowfell, they brought with them cursed blades capable of killing even a higher vampire, bestowed by the Archdevil Elise Kythera Zaavan.
Lenore Remington, the diplomat out of the four council member welcomed the adventurers, unaware of their cursed blade. Despite forming a bond with Lenore, the adventurers eventually betray and kill her using the cursed blade. Her husband, Silver Remington discovered Lenore's body and, devastated by her Death, attempts to resurrect her but fails. His attempt at resurection sparked Dana's interest in the book of vile darkness.

Book of vile darkness

It is during her quest that she heard about Tezzeret Thuzad, a fine wizard expert in Necromancy that managed to be brought back from the dead as a lich, something that was only said to be possible thanks to the dark secret among the book of vile darkness.
Her investigation of the cult revealed they were not in the possession of the book, however, their study of the dark arts led to them uncovering many secrets of necromancy. Something that intrigued the vampire, who started her own research on this school of Magic and joined the cult under the disguise of a simple cultist.
During her centuries of research, Tezzeret died and his phylactery was destroyed, revealing the ultimate weakness of lich to the vampire, then the Great Extinction changed the face of Toriel. Dana was now a rare survivor, among the undead of the cult who, thanks to their nature were not even scratched by the magical apocalypse.
An expert necromancer, she was soon promoted to lead the cult, her vampiric abilities only boosting her wizardly skills. Dana recognized the value of the cult of the damned, an asset in her quest for the book of vile darkness, and reorganized the cult, forcing them into hiding and study as long as the Draco-Giant War was raging.
The cult only resurfaced after the end of the war, they were to disguise and infiltrate the soon-to-grow realms and look for the vile book all over the world. The cultist revering her, pleased to serve this purpose, and lured by the promise of the ability to transcend death beyond undeath thanks to the artifact.
The higher vampire, now answering the name of Dana Redqwir, hides among the elves as an acolyte of Nesiven, an homage to the elf she liked so much.

Adventurers with a book

A group of adventurers started to gather page from the book of vile darkness, a feat that hasn't been accomplished in centuries. During their quest, they were forced to work under the cult of the damned, ultimately giving those pages to Dana. However they faked their death, and escaped the cult's clutch.
This infuriated Dana, who had seen them as her best chance of getting her hand on this power. Fortunately for her, as she sent a death knight after them, the group stumbled right into her manor in Megima. She pretended to help them, setting up an ambush to capture them and get the pages she craved for. Capturing Voronwe, their fighter, and replacing him with a vampire serving her. However the group managed to free tthe real Voronwe, escaping the ambush and teleporting to the other side of the continent before they could get caught again. Dana urging her death knight to act and capture them, dead or alive.
The knights tracked the group and kept Dana informed of their progress. Even so, she was caught off guard when they returned from the Seven Hells changed yet alive in Megima. Her spies warned her of their plan: the adventurers meant to expose her as a vampire before the nobles by using a mirror.
A master of illusion, Dana had long trained to fake a reflection. She sabotaged the antimagic field meant to break her spells, and the group’s plan failed at first. But they adapted fast. They threw blood on her to break her focus, while Aranwe, their sorcerer, cut off her attempt to recast the illusion with a counterspell. The trick worked, and Dana’s true nature was revealed.
Chaos followed. The reception the adventurers had staged as a trap collapsed into panic as her cultists clashed with nobles and royal guards. Exposed and called out by King Galad Ithil, Dana chose violence. She planned to slaughter every guest and twist the tale afterward.
The adventurers stepped in. Dana answered with a blast of necrotic winds, killing many nobles who failed to flee and draining the strength of the heroes. She lunged in with her fangs to draw their blood. Etha drove a silver rapier into Dana’s heart, slowing her healing long enough for Aelsthim to strike her hard.
Cornered, Dana shed her calm mask and shifted into her monstrous form. The tanuki barely escaped a killing bite by teleporting away, fleeing the fight. Dana turned on Aelsthim and struck him down before Chanteombre’s magic missiles tore into her back and dropped her.
Aranwe brought Aelsthim back before his soul slipped away, and Aelsthim ended the battle by cutting off Dana’s head to stop her swift return.
