Archdevil of Wrath

Somewhere in Hell, the echo of great battle can be heard, A never stopping battle between Aaron, and the minion of his enemies raging, the Devil laughing maniacally as he enjoys seeing his sword tearing through the flesh of his enemy, as he absorbs what's left of their life to grow even stronger.   His sword, so large calling it a greatsword would be an understatement, has a red glowing core, with each victim he slains, handling the sword in one hand, the core seems to pulse. the large leathery wing of the Archdevil waving like a cape, as dark horn curve on top of his face.   Archdevil's commandments:
  • Harness your fury as a weapon; let it fuel your strength and purpose.
  • Break the will of your enemies; make them turn upon themselves.
  • Wield your blade without mercy; let no hesitation dull its edge.

Possessions

Aaron possess Ardor, sister of Zeal, the warhammer wielded by Bahamut himself.

History

Aaron was once a champion of the Orrin, a paladin of Bahamut. His name struck fear into his enemies and gave courage to his allies. Against devils and demons alike, he stood as the fearless defender of civilization.   So mighty was Aaron that the trickster god Brandobaris took notice. He appeared to the paladin and offered him a gift: Ardor, a battleaxe of great power. Brandobaris explained that this weapon was the sister to Zeal, the warhammer wielded by Bahamut himself. Aaron did not know the axe was steeped in evil. At first he believed its strength would help him serve his people, to strike at the roots of darkness. Yet the very evil he had sworn to destroy was already creeping into his heart, whispering of power.   The whispers belonged to the archdevil of anger, who used Ardor as a snare. His plan was to corrupt the proud paladin into his pawn. To break him, the devil’s minion attacked Aaron’s home, seizing his wife and enslaving the townsfolk. The villagers begged their champion for deliverance, but Aaron faltered, chained by fear for his wife. In despair, the villagers killed her themselves, hoping to free him from hesitation. Instead, their act shattered him. Wracked with grief and rage, Aaron yielded to the devil’s voice. He made a dark pact, trading his soul for the strength to crush all who opposed him.   Aaron’s oath was broken. His crusade twisted into slaughter. Where once he defended the Orrin, now he butchered them, convinced he was saving them. Years passed in blood and ruin as the devil’s whispers drove him deeper into madness.   At last, wholly corrupted, Aaron descended into the Seven Hells. But the archdevil had miscalculated. The strength of Aaron, joined with Ardor’s might, was enough to challenge his master. In a battle, Aaron struck down the archdevil of anger and claimed his throne.   The paladin who once smote devils now sat as one of their lords. Leathery wings tore from his back, horns grew upon his brow, and his soul was bound to Ardor, which carried much of his essence. Where there had been a champion of Bahamut, there now ruled a new master of Ira.
