Skonyre
Skonyre is a city based on the estuary of the Yumea River where it flows from the Channan Mountains into the western side of Lake Aula. If each of the different cities of Tordronnen could be said to be the centers of things such as magic or trade, then Skonyre would be the artisanal capital. There are multiple galleries, theaters and libraries throughout the city and many master craftsmen call this city home.
There are multiple festivals throughout the year where the local artists and performers will put on showcases and displays. The most notable of these are the summer solstice and in Ekormune in celebration to the God Tyshoan, deity of Creativity, Crafting and Arcana.
Demographics
The creative heart of Skonyre draws quite the diverse range of peoples. Even the poorest, if skilled enough, can make their way into renown, fame and fortune on the colourful streets. Whilst many species call Skonyre home, there is also the density of dwarf population to be found outside of their usual mountain and mining towns. This being largely due to the extensive jewelry and silversmithing district, where many of the dwarf population live as skilled craftsmen.
Government
The governing of the city is under a central council, the Skokyran Districts and Guilds Council. It is made up of a combination of Guildmasters and District Leads who meet to discuss and decide on important matters of running the city. The District leads are voted in council members from not only the districts of the city but also representatives from the surrounding towns and areas.
Similarly to other city councils across Tordronnen, the Skonyran DGC has a Head Chair position or mediate and organise all council meetings and votes. However, unlike places such as Osthaven, the Head Chair position within Skonyre is an inherited role of the highest ranked noble in the area, the Cordalae family.
