In the world of Adventure!, a select few rise above the ordinary—not through radiation or genetic flukes, but through sheer force of will, brilliance, or mystery. These rare individuals are called the Inspired, though no one calls them that aloud. In the public eye, they're merely legends, prodigies, eccentrics. But beneath the headlines and hearsay lies something stranger, something that whispers of an unseen force—Inspiration.
Some, like the Daredevils, are men and women of impossible luck and uncanny timing. Bullets miss them by inches. They leap from airships onto speeding trains and somehow land on their feet. They don't fly or shoot lasers—but they win, often and against all odds. Their strength lies in confidence, instinct, and the absurd reliability of their own survival.
Then there are the Mesmerists, subtle minds who move through society like ghosts. They bend thoughts, read minds, and cloud perception. Some pose as stage magicians or spiritualists, others as doctors or detectives. But all tap into the hidden truths of the psyche... and sometimes, just sometimes, into truths much deeper.
And finally, the Stalwarts. Figures of myth and muscle, they punch through walls, ignore bullets, and wade through poison gas like it’s morning mist. Not freaks of nature, but men and women whose bodies obey will rather than biology. They’re the titans of the age, often feared as much as they’re admired.
The world doesn’t quite believe in them. Not yet. But they exist—mavericks shaped by a force older than science and more elusive than magic. Bursting onto the world stage in the 1920s, the mark they leave on history echoes far into the future.
