Kingdom of Tsion

Structure

Tsion is a principality under the High Kingdom of Caerluen. It follows much the same feudal structure as the other Nordremer Kingdoms and Caerluenic Principalities. It is headed by a heredity Prince who is vassal to the High King. As in Caerluen as a whole, the Church of Kol can exert great power over inheritance, and sometimes overrules the general Tsioni law of succession by cognatic primogeniture. Vassal to the Prince are some seven duchies, twenty-five counties, and many baronies.

History

Tsion was formed as a Principality of Caerluen during the Felitsani Exodus in 632 YN, in recognition of the efforts made by revolting Felitsani during that time.

Demography and Population

The population of Tsion is predominantly composed of ethnic and racial Felitsani, with a large population of Discasted Elves descended from those who joined in the Exodus, and a substantial human population. Discasted Elves predominantly settled on the far side of Tsion, as far from the Enchanted Forest as possible, and the human population tends to live in the more populous South of the Principality. The Felitsani population is distributed throughout the country.

Foreign Relations

Tsion is a vassal principality of Caerluen, and one of the only two principalities which is ruled by a local liege, the other being the Staatholder of Ataria. Because of its continuing conflicts with the elves, and its history of repression, Tsion tends to view Caeluen protection as both a positive benefit, and also a restraining influence preventing all-out war. It is openly hostile towards the Eldar, and considers its rights to be continuously violated by cross-border raids and the reprisals still perpetrated by agents of the Eldar against Discasted Elves. Tsion looks down on Nevarris, mocking their revolution as a mere farce which drew them into the custody of the elves.
