The Troubadours are a interesting example of xenotype-culture developing across the known galaxy. In this particular instance, it is a made more unique by the fact that it is made up of the Sylphe xenotype, both Lunaire and Solaire. Pinpointing the early development of the Traoubadours is a particularly difficult task, given their nomadic nature and loose associations that change and shift with regularity, as well as the rather broad nature of their development. The consistent through-line is a particular ideology developing amongst high society in the nascent societies that climbed out of the ashes of the Visitation. Perhaps the trauma of it all shook something loose in a few of those with a silver spoon, and across a few worlds they set out to help those in need like the characters in an old fairy tale.
When stellar travel became a possibility again, their ideology truly began to flourish as they took to the stars to find even more to do in their efforts to aid those in need. They earned their name, the Troubadours, during this time period. It was given to them for their wandering ways, as well as their fondness for art and music, which they inherited from their roots.
In the modern era, they are considered a rakish band of charming, not to mention beauty due to their use of the Sylphe xenosets, do-gooders who perform acts of kindness and justice across the stars as their own form of bravado.
The use of the Lunaire and Solaire Sylphe Xenosets became prolific within Troubadour communities fairly soon after it's introduction. It aligned with their views of themselves, and aided in their public image of being traveling paragons, in a sense. Most Troubadours are born to the Xenoset, as it stands, with most never having seen what they look like with just their base human DNA.
