Threads of Starlight
It wouldn't be hard to believe our past selves gods, when you look at the great works scattered across planets innumerable, or when you consider that we strode across the stars in an instant by cutting holes in the very fabric of reality.
And like the gods of old, we apparently didn't have the foresight to consider the consequences of our actions, of such...excision.
Eventually we cut too much, and it all frayed apart, taking the door between worlds off it's hinges as it did. The Visitors were all too keen to see this new existence that had been opened up to them. We were in no state to stop them and now we remain scattered, trying to sow an effigy of ourselves to resemble our old greatness.
