House of Thorvald
The House of Thorvald are the traditional rulers of the Jarldom of Suðurhöfn. The house was started by Thorvald Ironmane. Thorvald became the chieftain of the area surrounding Valdborg after defeating the previous chief in single combat. He was not content to be the chieftain of this area and began expand his domain by conquering the surrounding chieftains. Eventually he conquered enough of them to declare himself a Jarl and begin the Age of the Jarls.
The House of Thorvald has been one of the most important and powerful houses in Jardersfell since its founding. The first High King of Jardersfell was a member of the House of Thorvald. The house has been known for its strong warriors with keen minds who value honor and justice, but they can be single-minded in their quests for vengeance to right past wrongs.
