GAE-SR War

War between the Grand Artanat Empire and Sulethis Republic.

This war happened in 10205, which is shortly after the Hyperion Federation first contact with the SR (in 10053).

Due to the distances between the GAE and SR, most of the war was actually fought in unclaimed space. Most battles happened in and near the Eagle Way area, but this path specifically involves a massive intergalactic jump between Eagle Way and Raleminus. Alternatively, there was another 2 paths around the flanks of the Eagle Way path, through Upsilon Saminus and another through Delta Nixoria. 

Eagle Way saw the destruction of huge numbers of starships of both SR and GAE factions, effectively turning the galaxy into a large starship graveyard. Of course, being positioned so much closer to the GAE, they would have an advantage in recycling these wreckages after the war... 

However, the much closer proximity of the GAE from Eagle Way have allowed the SR to fire large artillery across this roughly 10 mega lightyear gap to Pimajor and roughly 20 mega lightyear gap to Elanaris and Theta Kralarnat. Because of this, the SR came out of the war in a better state than the GAE. The GAE eventually started launching ships directly from Theta Kralranat directly to Aloreus, skipping Eagle Way, so they had to move a not insignificant amount of defences there.

In the Upsilon Saminus theater, the GAE had the upper hand but in the Delta Nixoria theater the SR had the advantage. This resulted in a strange situation where each faction would constantly try to flank the other across the large Eagle Way gap, but with not much success. It did mean that both factions had to protect their respective convoys from enemy raids.
