Planetary Assault Ship
The primary ship used by the Hyperion Federation for planetary sieges. Able to store a massive ground invasion force, and can support them with orbital fire. It doesn't have any other armament, though. The Planetary Assault Ship also comes with a massive Teleporter array, intended to give it the ability to teleport huge numbers of forces simultaneously onto different spots on the planet.
Furthermore, it features a massive Cloaking Device array on the top of the ship, able to cloak it extremely well. Making the Planetary Assault Ship extremely hard to detect. It takes a huge amount of power to cloak a ship of its size, though, so only used when needed. This was done mainly to hide it from any planetary mounted anti starship weaponry. While cloaked, however, it cannot fire its orbital strike weapons, because that gives off a massive energy signature that the cloaker cant handle.
While a significant amout of the ship is dedicated to its immense cloaking device, it must also accomodate a massive invasion force because that is what it was designed for. Much of the internal volume of the ship is taken up by its army, and the teleporter used to transport units to the surface of planets is also very large and moutned to the exterior. This results in a highly vulnerable ship that would likely need escorts with dedicated space warships. It has relatively few matter plasma tanks, an antimatter annihilation core that must make many sacrifices to function efficiently, and smaller photon thrusters than an average ship of its size, giving it a fairly low acceleration. Despite these drawbacks, it is an important ship for the HF miltary and serves a vital role. It has been optimised over the thousands of years of its service, and can perform its role very efficiently.
When supplied with matter plasma from an external source, probably via teleporter, it can fabricate new vehicles and supplies on its own and as such they are also important for logistics of HF militaries on planets. However because of this they have become a somewhat significant priority target by many enemies of the HF.
The bridge of the starship also contains a planetary forces command post which can communicate with other planetary assault ships and coordinate the military forces below using intel obtained from orbit. The bridge also serves the purpose of other starship bridges being an important command post for a ship captain to give orders to their ship.
