Lerthol

Lerthol is a lava planet of the Vleno System.

Despite it being located at the same orbital radius as the other planets, its temperature is much higher. Lethol does not seem habitable, but it features a large amount of life anyway. These creatures are adapted to thrive in these very hot conditions and some creatures are even lava resistant. However, the sheer amount of heat gives the plants a lot of energy to photosynthesise, so Lerthol is ideal for creatures with a faster metabolism rate. However the ambient heat interferes with infrared detection methods, making them harder to use accurately. Some creatures even live in the lava, up to a certain depth anyway, and can use these extremely hot conditions to hide from predators.

As water boils well before this planets average temperature, creatures have evolved to use steam as a biochemical solvent. This does allow them to grow extremely strong steam powered muscles, giving some creatures incredible strength.

The largest space launch facility on Lerthol requires little external energy source, much unlike those on Ichnarna and Olrate. Rather than consuming nearby large creatures, the one on Lerthol extracts energy geothermally, allowing their purposed organisms to survive and function without much food. Nutrients are also extracted from lava, allowing the facility to theoretically operate nearly endlessly. This does limit its expansion though, as the harkas lost all planetary bore purposed organisms after the societies of this system decayed intno their own ecosystems. Various large predators continue to threaten the facility. For this reason, the facility also has extremely thick armour and shields, as well as a very powerful armament.

As Lerthol has a very intense geological activity, its surface shifts quite often. It has many large mountains and valleys, as well as the lakes and rivers of lava. It also has a small number of large lava oceans which some creatures have adapted to live in. This variety and ever shifting nature of the planet can provide a lot of cover and difficult to traverse terrain, so Lerthol has many legged and flying creatures.
