Keeper of Raria

The leader title of the Rih’kiel Remnant.

The name of this title is intended to constantly remind the Rih'kiel peoples that they are meant to defend the rest of Hyperion Federation civilization from their own technology, else they might lead to another 'Raria incident', or rih'kiel calamity which might destroy all life in the several HF galaxies - possibly even obliterating the entire galaxy cluster. The Keeper of Raria is thus an extremely important, though difficult role to have and only the strongest of attitudes and smartest can obtain enough respect from the people to be coined the Keeper. Contrary to the name of the title, the Keeper of Raria does not defend or even visit Raria; it is far to hot to sustain life and even the modern HF has great difficulty resisting this incredible heat. There is little to defend here, other than the lessons of the war...

The Keeper is elected in a way that's similar to democracy. There would often be several backup leaders in case something happens to the winner, such as death. These backup leaders are determined in the same votes that elected the leader. The person with the most number of votes becomes the Keeper, the person with the 2nd most votes becomes the second in command, the 3rd most votes becomes the third in command, ect. This system is designed as an emergency backup Keeper, for redundancy. Another election would be held immediately. In some cases, the chain of command might even be utilised when the primary Keeper is sleeping.

Upon being elected, there is often an election ceremony where most of the people have a public holiday, usually spent on watching their new leader come to power. The terms are quite long, so this tradition tends to be respected by almost every rih'kiel.

The entire backup Keeper chain is coordinated from several structures that orbit Raria and various other planets in nearby space. They are housed in many locations over rih'kiel or even wider HF territory. All of these structures are linked using teleporters, but even in the extremely unlikely event that these teleporters fail there are also QEC arrays in all keeper houses.

This way, it is practically impossible to disrupt the rih'kiel leadership.

The Keeper of Raria is often dressed in large red, fairly shiny clothes which are instantly recognisable and extremely iconic. By making them stand out, the importance of their task is made obvious to the rih'kiel. Some other species might think this is funny, but they too would have been taught the importance of this leader in particular. Some people have called to make them wear more 'professional' clothing while on the job.

They very rarely have any fighting experience so they are guarded by a number of guardians, at all times (during private times the guardians are sent to nearby rooms in their house, the Keeper of Raria would need to be ale to rest sometimes).

The current Keeper is Paneflrang.
