Great Granolas Belt

Large and dense asteroid belt located in the Granolas System between Granolas IV and Granolas V. 
  The Great Granolas Belt has been subject to a lot of mining in its history. This is due to its high richness in many materials and relative ease of access. That also makes it a good strategic location and is an area of focus during most wars that happen in the system. However this also means that it can make for a strong blockade preventing the defenders from receiving resources as the inner system is not sustainable. Furthermore, due to its density, it is very defendable. It has a history of many different factions building fortresses which are then attacked by another faction. Many of the asteroids have battle damage, but the additional wreckages there make it slightly more valuable. If it was not for the defences, the area would likely be attractive to pirates. It also effectively splits the system between the inner system and outer system.
  The Granolas Belt, like much of the system, has a large number of wreckages from previous battles between Arcturus factions. These are highly useful for scrappers who want to take a large amount of material and recycle it, rather than mining new ore. Scrappers have gained an understanding of many starsihps of other factions, even classified information at times, and they are also often willing to put a price on this information too. Some individuals have tried living in ithe belt in large habitable structures, often hidden by the asteroids, but these are normally conquered before the habitable planet, Granolas III, so now the idea does not seem so attractive. Initially, they wanted to live closer to the stars so that they could more easily fly ships through the system.
  In the Granolas belt, asteroids can come in many different shapes and sizes and a wide variety of metal ores can be extracted.
