Gartas Great Laboratory

Massive space station of the Hyperion Federation orbiting the Gartas System star with inbuilt thrusters to make sure it remains with the star as it changes velocity often.
  The Gartas Great Laboratory is the largest science station that is present in the system, spanning an impressive 25 km in multiple dimensions. It houses a large number of servers to store a significant amount of data and is filled with scientific equipment, some of which is expensive. It also has docks for a large number of science and Pioneer starships and has even at some times set up teleporter networks between Freelancer Starships. The HF takes a lot of interest in studying the various worlds in the system of course. But so far they have not yet found out why the precursor faction built the stellar engine.
  HF ships 'dock' by establishing teleporter networks between each other. They are not really capable of docking as they have no enterances, but this allows them to store ships by keeping them in orbit. This allows them to not be limited by the number of dock yards available.
  The primary purpose of the massive station is to find out about the precursor stellar engine. However it also serves many secondary purposes such as acting as a large data center for the HF, collecting energy from the stellar engine and maintaining fleets of starships naer its orbit. This makes its shape instantly recognisable to all cultures within the system, and even some people outside of the system. It was once also used by miltary commanders as a strategic coordination station, for planning attacks and even weapons research. Of course, the original station was never designed for this task. It was assigned much later at a needed time.
