Devastator

A small, one man anti tank emplacement weapon designed and used by the Karnol Caretakers.   The Devastator cannon is very powerful despite its small size. Unlike an anti tank missile launcher though, it requires the user (or perhaps multiple) to set it up in the ground to take the recoil of the weapon. Using a very large scope, a user can aim it towards enemy heat signatures (or use visual spotting), and fire a powerful 50mm shell at enemy vehicles. It is designed as an anti tank rifle, so it is a railgun that takes a high voltage to accelerate rounds to supersonic speeds. The rounds then separate mid-trajectory like a sabot which gives it a lot of penetrating power. Although a singular user can only carry about 20 rounds and the weapon by themselves, with largely impeded mobility, ammunition can also be sent via truck if the KC plans on deploying a large number of Devastators. In these cases, a battery can be continually supplied with ammo from dedicated loaders (the driver probably becomes a loader during this) and the truck itself.   These weapons are not magazine fed. They are loaded after every shot, as a magazine would improve the fire rate of the weapon, which would cause the rails to melt from these high power currents. They also had to allow the weapon to recharge after firing anyway. In other words, this is an intentional limitation to prevent the weapon destroying itself.
