Ember Veil
In the obsidian steps and halls around a dormant volcano lies the second step of the Pilgrimage to Enlightenment.
At the Ember Veil, monks learn to control their focus and resilience. Fire is sacred, not as a force of destruction, but for purification. Students sit in blistering heat and control their focus to strike when every part of their ki is in line.
The Heartflame is the centerpiece of this monastery, a giant brazier used in the Ember Veil's final trial, said to have been lit by Master Vhanu himself.
Failure here is not dishonorable, but painful. Many leave with scars, both physical and spiritual.
