Saymaclari

Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
Saymaclari is an area in western Epeoris which encompasses the Kingdom of Agy and the Deep Kingdom of Torkia. Saymaclari also refers to the geographical area ruled by the Kingdom of Agy, and to the native lands of the Agyer.

Geography

Saymaclari is dominated by rolling grassy hills interspersed with large boulders and rocky outcrops. The terrain is uneven and rugged, and is notable for its large number of caves, including several cave systems. These caves not only play an important role in Saymaclari's ecology, but also hold cultural and strategic significance for Agybarim; these caves are used as hideouts and depots by the local militias, and were crucial in securing the kingdom's independence from the Second Empire of Ader and the Yokun Empire. Rivers are scarce, but seasonal streams from glaciers atop the Amadal Ridge and the mountains of Torkia are frequent.

Fauna & Flora

Saymaclari is known for great herds of Gunegh which roam and graze the grassy slopes; these herds migrate seasonally and play a central role in Saymaclari's ecosystem and are a prominent feature of Agyer culture and art. Flora is dominated by hardy grasses, wild barley, and low shrubs adapted to the windy, mineral-rich soil, while mosses and fungi thrive in the caves; at least eight unique forms of lichen are endemic to the caves.
