Nepisok Bay
Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
The Nepisok Bay is a small inlet of the North Gulf in the Kingdom of Nakilnul by the eastern edge of the Nakam Slopes, immediately under the seaside cliffs of Berronar's Gardens. The bay is almost always filled with quicksand and seamlessly blends with the shoreline, which is almost always comprised of quicksand, forming a continuous patch.
Localized Phenomena
The quicksand in Nepisok is notorious for its unique suction effect, which stems from a downwards-increasing density gradient; and for its consistent and widespread formation, which is possible yet highly improbable.
Fauna & Flora
The bay is generally devoid of plants and animals, save for plankton. The notable exception is the Quicksand Worm, which is the largest endemic life-form in Nepisok, and whose lifecycle is dependent on the bay’s quicksand. Some scholars argue that the quicksand worm should be classified as Nepisok’s apex predator.
Raptorans were known to nest in the bay’s periphery in ancient times, but as culture on the continent developed, the raptoran communities migrated east to Gaa'rei Rislan.
