Blood Hunter

Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
A Blood Hunter is a relentless martial warrior who wields Blood Magic.   Where most recoil from the darkness that stalks the world, beast, fiend, undead, and things born beyond the veil, blood hunters choose a harsher path. They do not merely oppose the shadows; they study them, bleed for them, and turn their own vitality into a weapon. Through grim rites and half-forgotten rituals, blood hunters surrender a portion of their life force to gain insight into their quarry, forging a terrible bond between flesh, steel, and curse.   Driven by obsession as much as duty, blood hunters are hunters of the unnatural in all its forms. They track abominations that shrug off divine judgment and evade arcane restraint, employing hemocraft to curse their foes, empower their strikes, and call hostile elements to heel. Each wound they inflict upon themselves sharpens their understanding of the enemy, blurring the line between hunter and monster with every battle fought.   Though bound together by their orders, which are like families forged in blood and vigilance, blood hunters often walk the margins of society. Their rites leave marks upon body and spirit alike, unsettling common folk and inviting superstition even among the learned. Some conceal their calling behind cloaks and silence; others accept their role as necessary terrors, haunting wild frontiers and forgotten roads to shield the innocent from horrors unseen.   Whether motivated by vengeance, duty, or the need to belong, every blood hunter begins with the Hunter’s Bane. The Hunter's Bane is a ritual that irrevocably alters them. From that moment onward, their path is one of discipline, pain, and resolve.
