Uskatie
Uskatie are paticular, and even more so territorial. They go after the minds of their victims by inhibiting their sleep, they make dreaming absolutely terrifying. Victims often awake crying or screaming, to the point they fear dreaming. The victims try to stay awake for as long as possible, thinking it will save them. This is the Uskaties goal, trick people thinking dreaming at night is the worst. The Uskatie terrify you at night, but they take control during the day. They wait until the victim cant differentiate when reality starts blurring between the waking and dreaming world. When one moment their resting on a brick wall and the next their falling down an endless chasm. This is when they strike, it helps them take over. When someone looks sleep deprived thanks to the nighmare, they look terrible. Their have bags on their gaunt eyes, their disheveled and rough, hair is unkempt and they might forget to shower. They may say erratic things due to the lack of sleep which may seem nonsensical, but are mostly likely their calls for help. So when the Uskatie takes over, they look like fresh as a newly minted coin. The Uskatie are smart enough to cast suspicion on the person and not themselves. Which makes them one of the most dangerous nightmares, knowing that they target mages 9 times out of 10. This is where the territorial aspect comes in. Mages lucidly dream at will, they talk with, interact, build and practice with each other in the dreaming world in ways others cannot. They also have to occasionally fight the Uskatie. While Uskatie can be dealt with, if they happen to catch a mage who is vulnerable. They can take full of advantage of them, cutting them off from the others. So they can have their way with the mages mind. Uskatie are difficult to deal with not only because they have to be killed by other mages in the dreaming world, and displace the mind of the victim in a prison, they also take over the victim as a pack. Dealing with Uskatie is dealing with a nightmare dungeon filled with beasts, and it is not easy.
