Trolls

What a Troll lacks in physicality they make up in tactics. Trolls wait and observe to commit an action. That goes for most things, war, love or a game of chess. Trolls actually take days to complete the simplest competitions, they prefer the slow burn over the flash bang. Trolls know how people perceive them, they're seen as fat and slow. But they're quick on using their perceived weaknesses against people. Trolls will play into the stereotype you have of them. If you think they're slow, they'll react at a snails pace to surprise you later. If you think they're to smart they'll become overly complex, overthinking everything ten times over just to lull you into a false sense of security.

Culture and cultural heritage

The trolls were always a slow and steady kind of people. They didn't possess the quickness of goblins, brute ogre strength or orc versatility but none had their minds. Trolls had plenty of plans and contingencies. They could plot and scheme and learn with the best of them. But even they were surprised by the many machinations and traps laid by the snakes. That war shaped them as much as it shaped the goblins. While the rest of the Orsai were focused on survival and defeating their enemy, the trolls wanted their secrets. They were excited to war with the snakes to learn new things from them.

The trolls raided their structures and temples, and learned new magic and technology. All of which they've yet to share with the rest of the Orsai. Not only did they steal their knowledge, their bodies were fair game as well. It's well known that Trolls have kept a few undead snakes in the swamps, kept on the lookout in the places that are hardest to watch.

Due to their heavyset leanings, trolls heavily rely on mounts to move around. They actually have pretty strong bonds with their steeds, and turn it into a family affair if its possible. If the father and mother both ride the same species and their different sexes. They'll try to breed their mounts so they can gift the newborn onto their own children.

Shared customary codes and values

Trolls favor patience and decisiveness. They keep their cards close to their chest and could sometimes seem cold and off putting to others.

Art & Architecture

Trolls live in the marsh and swamplands, and build raised houses in the area. Their city is spread all over the wetlands, from the deepest part you could drown in, all the way to dry land where they keep their mounts. They built their walkways so they could be lowered into the swamps in case of invasion. To tire out the invading force before they reached the heart of the city.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Trolls have a tradition of passing down their Gam Snilav, passed down from their ancestors with representations of their strongest foes woven into the fabric. And most of the robes passed down are made of pure snakeskin, hence the name, which translated means war scales.

Common Taboos

Impulsiveness is rather stupid for trolls. But there impulsiveness is different than others. A troll can ponder a problem for an hour and still be impulsive. Trolls want facts, research and assurances. To measure ten times and once more or never cut at all, is the troll way. They prefer maximum efficiency and chances, before they act.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Trolls are heavier than the rest of the Orsai, so their standards for beauty are different. They prefer for each other to be thicker rather than muscular.
