Barbacks
The Baris Tu Bacca Mountains were the settling place of a splintered group of Ogres, Trolls and Goblins. Shock-troops of the Orsai Expeditionary Fleet. The Ogres were quite adept at hitting any force with overwhelming power. When they returned from an expedition to see their home in ruins, they were the first to call for a charge. Their scouts never stopped.
They followed the scouting ship, pleading for them to turn back to help. But nothing changed and so after going to far to turn back, they followed. Unable to forget how they left whoever was left to die, they swore to get justice. And because they themselves didn't return, could no longer be the proud Ogres they once were. But their new name would come soon enough.
They were sailing together for awhile and by the time they landed the Ogres weren't on speaking terms with the others. The Ogres climbed up the mountains to settle in their new home. Connecting peacefully with the locals even with the language barrier and intimidating appearance. They became known to the locals as the Barbacks and they adopted the name and language gladly. Life in the mountains wasn't harsh but it was much easier with the locals.
Hunting and fishing came easy as the predatory species stayed in the valleys, along with the Trolls and Goblins. Who the locals started calling the Drusaderi. They were grave robbers and were highly despised. Highly trained in magical warfare unknown to the locals while the Ogres had brute strength to offer. The Barbacks having knowledge of their magic offered to defend them. They've been fighting ever since. The Barback name is now a badge of pride and a euphemism for strength and staunch morality.

Funerary and Memorial customs
If the body is not cremated, it will be buried and covered with stones. The better the fighter the heavier, and more numerous the stones. Tombs will have traps only known to family members. In battle, some of them will have their armor equipped with a combustible material. So if they die, a mage can set their body on fire to cremate them immediately.
Common Taboos
The Barbacks have stopped all practice of necromancy and object to the use of it in their presence.
