Ministry of Provisions
The Ministry of Provisions is one of the nine current ministries that form the governing body of The City.
The Ministry of Provisions governs and orchestrates the provision of supplies and amenities to meet the basic needs of the community. It monitors and catalogues the needs and demands of the population, governs how they are met, and ensures the distribution of solutions. These needs include food, water, shelter, clothing, and basic amenities. The provision of medicine, care, and education is achieved through collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Care, and Children.
Established in its current form in 3276 PL, the Ministry of Provisions was established to streamline, consolidate, and centralise the welfare programs of several other ministries. Prior to this, the Ministry of Population (and before that the Ministry of Records) were tasked with the bureaucratic aspects, while others such as the Ministry of Agriculture would handle logistics and distribution of their relevant goods.
The ministry building is located on the Third Level, and flanks Prosperity Plaza along with the Ministry of Communications. There are also numerous Provisions Offices located throughout every level of The City, serving as contact and processing points for the population, as well as distribution branches.
The current Minister of Provisions is Margaret “Maggie” Aquaspring-Smythe.
