Ministry of Agriculture
The Ministry of Agriculture is one of the nine current ministries that form the governing body of The City .
The Ministry of Agriculture governs all aspects of The City’s naturally grown resources. This is primarily in the form of field crops, but also includes moss, mushroom, and fungus cultivation, and forestation for the purposes of lumber (though the harvesting and processing falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Industry). It is also responsible for the preparation and distribution of food and medical goods to appropriate departments, such as the Ministry of Health, Care, and Children.
Established in its current form in 3138 PL, it is The City's oldest standing ministry. The ministry building is the only one of its kind located on the First Level, situated within The Silo. The Silo is a narrow strip of the First Level that spans between the southern edges of the Residential and Industrial Districts, suspended above the fields of the Agricultural District below, and devoted almost entirely to storage of harvested crops and processed foods and medical goods.
The current Minister of Agriculture is Carter deBrusk, the latest in a long line of family members to hold significant positions within the field.
