Elf

Elves are a sapient species present in the world of Theos.

The elves of Pyalea originated from across the seas on the continent of Terres Dorées. The elves first came to Pyalea (which they referred to as Paysage Aléatoire) as expeditions from the ever expanding Luisant Empire, initially attracted by the promise of the rampant and tumultuous magics that were present throughout the continent.

They eventually colonised Pyalea and began to use their mastery of magics to tame the land and its wild inhabitants, effectively uplifting other species, or at least paving the way for them to progress linearly without the constant changing nature of the continent. The elves of Pyalea expanded and advanced and prospered, even while those that remained in their homeland struggled and declined. Contact between territories was eventually lost, and the homeland vanished into obscurity, while those within Pyalea become the true remaining Luisant Empire.

After hundreds of years the Luisant Empire has receded and diminished, but still remains. The natural magics of the elves seem to have faded somewhat, and their longevity has lessened significantly, though still not to be on par with those of the region's other species.

Elves have historically had an average expected lifespan of 750 years. As of 3591 PL, the current average expected lifespan is approximately 300 years.
