Balmer

Balmers are the healers and medics of Pyalea. They utilise natural remedies, often combined with and augmented by magic.

Many regions have a dedicated balmer responsible for treating and supporting that community, and training their eventual replacement, generally through dedicated apprenticeships. The methods and techniques of balmers may vary from place to place, especially dictated by the availability of certain herbs or resources, but their core practices are shared universally and date back millennia.

Though far surpassed by the abilities of The Order of the Ancient Heart, balmers are far more prevalent and available across the continent, especially in smaller and/or more remote communities. Communities with an Order presence still generally employ balmers.
