Tachanigh-Kelkaith Trade Corridor
What is the Tachanigh-Kelkaith Trade Corridor?
This famous trade route extends from Raul and Zyrine in south-central Tachamund to Toleva and Wraquo in the far north. Good roads are maintained along the way due to a mix of land god and lesser divine effort, at least until Tirrtian Pass, whereafter the sledgeways vary in quality. A major anchor point for the entire trade route is Wraquo at the far end, as Toleva appears to be drawn to the challenge of creating an industrial pole in a place of extreme isolation, such that a great deal of the trade along the Tachanigh-Kelkaith is aimed with the objective of tapping the abundant metalwork goods produced in Wraquo.
This route is known across Theoma and sometimes shortened in speak to 'the Tachanigh-Kelkaith', 'the TKTC', or even just 'the Steel Road'... although it should be there noted that none of the roads in the Tachanigh-Kelkaith are literally made of steel, but rather that phrase refers to the fact that the trade corridor has major metalworking cities on both ends of it. Travel rates are however quite high along the length of the Tachanigh-Kelkaith.
What kind of goods are traded along the Tachanigh-Kelkaith Trade Corridor?
Most famously, the Tachanigh-Kelkaith is a Steel Road where the goods of Wraquo diffuse back across the road, yet without many points of trade along the way it would never survive, and there is a distinct peculiarity that at both ends of the trade route (Wraquo and Zyrine) there are very advanced economies that produce a great many metalwork tools. From Zyrine north to Tasumdynal and Xeladash there is a 'first metalwork' route where the industrial potency of Wraquo is far outpowered by the industrial potency of Zyrine.
From Taisatinrun and Inrakaveach (which is also adjoining to Xanasal) there is a tremendous trade of raw materials (metal and stone) both north across the sea to the Kelkaith side of the Tachanigh-Kelkaith Trade Corridor as well as south across south-central Tachamund to reach Zyrine.
From Agykalravor and Xanasal across the sea is the 'second metalwork' route where the industrial potency of Wraquo is generally advantaged over the industrial potency of Zyrine, though there is some amount of crosswash in the vicinity of Imraziu and the League Tonturaseer where the two industrial tips to the TKTC are in tension with each other and holding down prices. Imraziu is in turn notable as its many artisan industries rely on the tools produced in Zyrine or Wraquo to support different, secondary industries; Imraziu's theome is one of the most advanced (and capital-intensive) economies on Theoma due to heavy specialization in the three cities of the League.
What do the land gods think of the Tachanigh-Kelkaith Trade Corridor?
It is the renowned position of Querent-Querent that long-distance trade and travel are sacred on Theoma, and this position the library-temples of Querent-Querent along the corridor are confederated to support. Beyond this (or perhaps better said to speak of specifics), Toleva is famously a personal friend of Boghegd and Griolor, who dwells near Zyrine and within the territory of Confederacy of Zyrine and Relny (as Boghegd is more concerned with running a business than with running a state). The two landgods maintain this long-distance friendship by working to try to bring together the economies along the route, which is therefore sometimes said to be holy to Toleva. More rarely, it is sometimes called holy to Boghegd, but as Boghegd largely eschews manipulations of Fate geomancers consider this claim technically inaccurate.
