Publicly, it maintains a stance of political neutrality, but many instructors and visiting guilds harbor personal investments in the success of its students.
Mage Academy wasn't always the pinnacle of adventurer training. That changed nearly 48 years ago with the arrival of Headmaster Drake Bolindo. After retiring from a storied life of adventure, Drake assumed leadership of the academy. Though human, he remains astonishingly youthful and vigorous for his age, a trait he attributes to the Vitality he gained after slaying the rare and dangerous Crawling Apocalypse . Drake proudly shows off his resume in the form of a trophies displayed throughout his office and home.
A decade after Drake Bolindo took over Mage Academies reputation had taken a 180, from the soon to fail anitquated school to the up and coming maker of true heroes. This new generation of adventures would come along at the right time, as the world would soon begin to fall to chaos as new monsters, war lords, and Powerful lithces would begin to reamerge on the scene.
Mage is now the premere school in the land of Kariarn and the world. While rivals schools may disagree, no one else will.
