Festival of Eternal Blossoms

This is a special celebration held on many planets upon the time of spring on Helios. Originally started by the elves in the forests of Rosalvinia, the Shaia adopted the tradition and also celebrate the festival every year. The festival is a time to celebrate the growth of friendships, love and nature. Because of this many towns will decorate their buildings with streamers containing flowers and flashing green lights. During this time residents of towns and cities are encouraged to grow greenery and flowers. Many of these are eventually donated to planets that have a distinct lack of living plantlife.
Due to there being so many different planets, cities and towns with their own traditions, we'll be focusing on one town in particular on Helios, Incrementum. This town is known to be the best place to celebrate the Festival of Eternal Blossoms, containing beautiful waterways and dozens of gardens.

History

The Festival of Eternal Blossoms was actually started by a group of Shai settlers, alongside the native Mennequil and fairy populations on the coast of the Sea of Flowers. At the time the settlers were astounded by the wondrous flowers and vegetation found on Helios, and thus decided to dedicated several weeks to the celebration of their growth. Since then others have taken up the tradition and it is considered a universal holiday and as such new traditions and additions have been made to the festival, turning it into an even larger event.

Execution

The festival begins near the Sea of Flowers where the Great Leyline Lotus is located, roughly two miles offshore. During this time the lotus will open and a beam of light will shoot far into the sky, signifying the start of The Festival of Eternal Blossoms. During this time hundreds of aquatic flowers will be released into the surrounding waters, many of which are smaller leyline lotus's. Many of these flowers are biolumenescent, so they lights up the shoreline and eventually float out to sea or further into the town.
