The Yavinian Plain

The Great Plains

The greater Yavinian plain includes all the neighbouring plains of Isich, the enyanian plain, because all of these belong to the same greater plain. The climate is still dry enough to deny the growth of the forest. In fact, the forests have been in decline for many millennia, slowly giving way to the grass. At one point, the trees reached all the way to the Yavin River, leaving this plain but a small patch of grass in the north, nothing compared to what it is now.

Flora

Most of the rest of the native plant and animal life is mostly the same. A wide variety of grass and weeds grow here, and in the spring and summer, even certain types of flowers. In the northeast, grasses give way to shrublands, in the region known as the rend, where the lands receive much more moisture, but the cold and windy climate isn't hospitable for forest growth.

Split Plains

The Yavinian plain can be split into two main regions, the north and the south, split down the middle by the Yavin River.
This distinction is important mainly for figuring out the main grazer, since in the north the Yavinian Bison is dominant, while in the sout, the Yavinian Brown Tail Deer is the main grazer.
These bison have since been domesticated into the cow, which has spread across the world, and many varieties now exist.
Both of these creatures are staples of their respective cuisines.

Fauna

With the presence of large prey animals, there are also large predators. The original apex predator of these plains was the lion, but the spread of humans have caused them to decline. Instead, the most common in these lands is now the western grey wolf, especially in the central and northern regions of the Yavinian Plain. In the regions closer to the forest, the sabre cat can now also be found.
Other than these, the direwolf is the most elusive and rare predator prowling these plains.

Besides big prey and predators, there are also a large number of smaller animals, some of them notable enough to be listed here. These include rabbits, hares, and foxes, as well as many species of mouse and rat, the Yavinian badger, moles, and many more.

Lastly, the largest creature found here is the fiend, a gruesome beast that competes with all predators named above for food. Although it is incredibly rare, it is found in all parts of this plain.

Cradle of Humanity

The plains around the Yavin River are considered the spawning point of humanity's most diverse culture group, the Yavinian Cultures. They started as simple cow herders in the north, but have since spread far beyond these grasses.
In modern times, they are home to the people of Westingham, who still call themselves Yavinians.

Battleground

Besides just the birthplace of Cultures, this has also been the world's battleground for almost the entirety of the human and elven presence here. The most bloody conflict, which was fought hardest here, was known as the blood wars and lasted for one thousand years.
