The Black Hand
The Hand
Orcs are well known for their fighting skills, but not so much for their organized societal structure or desire to form large organizations. Still, many have chosen to become a member of the black hand, the world's largest and most renowned mercenary organization.
Structure
The Black Hand is, ironically, not run by Orcs, but by Isich merchants, and it is divided into nine companies, which operate independently from each other.
The Board manages all of the Hands business. They make contracts and send companies on assignments.
The companies are led by company leaders, who are in charge of coordinating the company's movements and battle tactics, as well as representing them to whoever they are currently employed by.
Members are allowed to switch between companies as they wish, all they have to do is request a transfer, and then it is made official. These types of requests are nearly always approved.
Company leaders are appointed by the board and are chosen based on a few critical criteria. They must be level-headed and not lose their cool too quickly. They must be able to communicate effectively with their employer, as well as their men. They must be skilled battle planners, who do not crack under pressure, and most importantly, they must be strong, skilled warriors, who is respected by the other orcs.
Contracts
All buisiness in Isich involves a contract. These are legalized pieces of paper that clarigy the exact terms of service as well as all obligations and requirements of both parties.
Black Hand contracts are always filled with loads of legal jargon, meant to sound impressive and important, but there are always a few important matters that both parties need to agree upon, which are then officialized in the contract.
1-Duration
All contracts last for terms described in amount of moons, half years, or full years. The exact start and end date are always included in this section.
2-Price
This duration goes along with a specific fee. The board will always come up with an elaborate calculation, based on risk, duration, and many other factors, but this price is always nagotiable, and the final price will be recorded in the contract. Payment is usually in silver in gold, but occasionally the board also accepts currency, depending on the popularity and stability of said currency.
All payments are up front.
3-Exclusivity
For the duration of the contract, the black hand is barred from providing services to the enemies of their client, (exact entities must be specified,) and of the client wishes to employ other mercenary companies, they must consult with the Black hand board before doing so.
4-Reasonable Risk
The black hand troops are not obligated to take unnecessary risks while engaging the enemy. They must not be forced to enter suicide missions, and the company leader (name specified) has the power to veto decisions or battle plans if they put his men in too great a risk that can be considered unfair or unnecessary.
5-Company Rights
The leader of the company (name specified) has the right to make all final decisions regarding his troops safety. This same individual has the authority to order all company personal to surrender immediately if deemed appropriate.
If the company leader makes such decisions incorrectly, or innapropriately, the client has the right to financial compensation.
6-Sustainance
The employed must provide all employed black hand personell with adequate amounts of food and water for the duration of the contract, they may be ordered to live off the land only if reasonable, and this must be discussed with the company head(name specified).
Failure to comply will lead to the premature termination of the contract without compensation.

History
The organization got its start when a group of Isich merchants, who had been trading with a certain Orcish tribe for some time, realised that they could employ these orcs as warriors, and then sell their employ to the Isich government, which was at war with Enyanin at the time.
This is how the first company was created.
It wasn't long, however, before someo of orcs started to have an issue with the company leader that had by the merchants. Innitially they thought they could just replace the leader, but he had a loyal following that wouldn't stand for it, so instead, they decided to split the company into multiple independant entities with their own leaders. At first there were three, one led by the main opposition to the original leader, and a third for neutral members. Over time, as the merchants discovered the conveinance of having multiple companies to sell to different people, they expanded this idea, until they reached the currrent nine.
Employees
The black hand mostly employs orcs, which is what it is so famous for, but this is not a restriction. Non-orcs are allowed to enter service, however, most prove incapable of keeping up, and are therefore considdered a liability.
This is becuase orc warfare is particularly fast paced, and requires a lot of stamina and strength.
