"The Commonplace" Inn & Tavern

"The Commonplace" is a large, 'U' shaped building with a wide open central courtyard type space filled with a small array of trees and stone benches and even a small fountain. It's quaint, but not extravagant, simple and open. This space is surrounded on three sides by the two story structure. Each of the side wings of the 'U' contain the inn portion of the establishment, containing a full length wrap-around balcony. The doors to the inn's rented rooms here are accessible from the exterior of the building. The tavern of The Commonplace is contained within the base of the 'U', and also seems to occupy a two story space, and seems to be alive with movement even at this relatively early hour.

Passing through the main two doors of the tavern first places any visitor to the Commonplace within its small entryway, where an old reception desk sits, along with the slightly disheveled looking innkeeper in his once fine, but now well-worn suit and slightly bent, round spectacles stands ready to greet any guests as they enter.

Pressing beyond the reception desk, the tavern within the Commonplace, boasts a massive first floor tavern floor with additional accommodations for more seating in the open balcony that spans the entire parameter of the space. Two separate bars serve the Commonplace, and are located on either of the two side walls. The central focus of the tavern's construction, however, does not seem to be the bars themselves, but rather the central stage positioned within the heart of the tavern, allowing a full 360° view from below or above in the balconies of whatever sort of live performance the tavern was putting on for its patrons that night, be it music, comedy or dramatic acting. Currently, the stage stands empty at this hour.
